Request a sender ID such as SHULEYETU, so parents know the message really comes from the school. Write in Kiswahili or English with plain letters, and pay from a prepaid TZS wallet: from TZS 18 per SMS, with no monthly fee.

Can parents without a smartphone receive the messages?
Yes. SMS works on every mobile phone on Vodacom, Airtel, Yas, Halotel and TTCL, without data or an app.
Can I send a different message to each class?
Yes. Put parents in groups, by class, stream or bus route, and send each group its own message.
Can parents stop the messages?
Yes. Opt-outs are kept per number and honoured on every send.
